Geocaching

Hey family -

I just wanted to share a new thing with you all that I think you will LOVE!! When I first learned about geocaching, my first thought was, "Dad would love this!" Knowing the rest of sibs and the sigs, I know you would all enjoy this hobby too. Check out the website for more details:

I went for the first time on Sunday and am totally hooked! We found some really cool places that we never would have otherwise. It was a continual adventure and took us to the most beautiful places. The pictures here are of some of the cool things we found. Check out my blog for a more complete account.

There are caches all over the world, even Indy, Bloomington, and Chicago! Also, there is an app on your Iphone specifically for geocaching complete with GPS, compass, etc. Let me know what you think!!

You follow coordinates and clues to find the cache. Inside is a log of all the people who have found it in the past and maybe some trinkets.

You sign the log, take something, leave something (even if it's just pictures) and soak up the surroundings.

During our day of caching, we found some wild lilies on a hillside along the coast.

These little plants were also along the lava rock cliff where we found our first cache.

The views were amazing and it was a great day of true exploration!!

You have to try it!!

Spring Flowers

Found outside the Pointe Condo.
This is my first try at publishing on a Blog.
Thought I would use my spring flower photos to play with.
Enjoy

Cruisin...

Here are a few sneak peek pictures from our recent trip to the Caribbean. You know I have many more pictures and will be sending them soon! We had an absolute blast! It was definitely a once in a lifetime trip...

This is our ship from the beach in Labadee - Roche "reserved" an entire beach for its employees!!

This was my favorite location... the British Virgin Islands. This photo was taken from Norman Island, and I think way off in the distance you can see Flanagan Island (yes, there is a Flanagan Island in the BVI!) I have never seen water so blue! We snorkeled and sailed around the Sir Francis Drake Channel, it was beautiful.

I like to call this one our own little Carona Commercial. So relaxing!

More photos to come!

St. Louis

We spent the weekend in St. Louis a little while ago. We had B-E-A-Utiful weather all weekend! We were able to catch up with John & Beth on Saturday - we spent the day galavanting around town checking out the sites. We made it down to the arch, but didn't actually make it up. Which was probably fine, because the line was loooong and the weather was too nice to be inside in line all day! Sunday we spent the morning chasing Kevin around town as he ran the marathon. Kokes - thanks for letting us join you for the weekend!!

Jump for Joy - We're in St. Louis!!

Laura is ready to go with her poster, even in front of the portolets... hehe

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!! We had a wonderful weekend... there was so much excitement! We had the chance to celebrate with Catherine as she was initiated into the Catholic faith at St. Mary's parish downtown. What a memorable night for her & for all of us!! I am so proud and honored to have been able to be there to witness her & David's faith in action.

As if that wasn't enough cause for celebration, at the very same time (literally) and just a few miles away at Lucas Oil Stadium the Butler Bulldogs beat Michigan State to advance to the NCAA championship! It has been so much fun to see all of the goings on with the final four downtown and having Butler there makes it all the much better!!

Easter Sunday we all went out to Aunt Anne's and Uncle Jim's. We had B-E-A-utiful weather, good food, and of course a few games of PIG/HORSE in the driveway.

Nothing like coloring some Easter eggs to get us in the mood before Easter Vigil Mass. Congrats, Catherine!!

Just a little fun with the NCAA - go Bulldogs!!

Beautiful day to celebrate Easter!

Kevin's got great form!

Spring has sprung, and the blooms are beautiful!

A Blast From the Past

A few weeks ago I got an email from a long lost friend!! Wendy (Irvin) Shetler was a friend from St. Mary's. She played soccer with Katie and I for a few years. Her husband is a Naval Aviator who is deployed to Kadena for 6 months. She had a chance to come visit him and wanted to meet up while she was here!! We took a day to explore the Shuri-jo Castle here in Okinawa while our hubbies were at work. It was a great opportunity to see a new part of the island and catch up with an old friend. Wendy is a pharmacist in Hawaii where she and her husband are now stationed. They will be moving to Corpus Christie, TX in a few short weeks!! It was great to catch up with her and hear all about the other lovely ladies we went played soccer with. We missed you, Kato but I filled her in on how you and the rest of the family are doing!
